Roy Angel is slowly adjusting to the pressures of working at Rudgard & Blugden Confidential Investigations, although his Raymond Chandler 'training manuals' still haven't reconciled him to going to work every day.
From meeting Huddersfield's very own Double-O-Seven, to getting entangled in a shoot out where the OAPs are acting like kids, Angel's latest caper possesses a cast of characters and indefatigable humour which rightly makes Mike Ripley the King of Comedy Crime.

‘As hilarious and outrageous as ever, fully justifying Ripley’s tag as “England’s funniest crime writer''Birmingham Post
Add your review »'After the rather mediocre Angel In The House, Ripley and Fitzroy are right back on form in this excellent yarn.
Imitation, they say, is the sincerest form of flattery, and I recognised early on that Ripley was borrowing some of the plot and some incidents from Raymond Chandler novels, a couple of which I have read. However, Ripley does put his own take on it, and the result is absorbing, and of course, very funny.
Angel is still undertaking his worst nightmare - working for a living - and his w-, I mean, partner, is still pregnant (after 2 years this must be a record). However, Amy is mellowing as she is blooming (although this could change when the baby is born, adding to Angel's anxiety). So at least he doesn't have to worry about house and home - he has plenty of other stuff occupying his mind.'Fiona
